(ALBANY, NEW YORK) The New York State Supreme Court has ordered the fantasy sports betting sites FanDuel and DraftKings to shut down operations within the state, it was reported over the weekend. The court has deemed the two sites to be running “illegal lotteries,” according to Judge Manuel Mendez. In a related story, this past week’s winning Cash4Life numbers are: 10, 47, 48, 53, 58, and Cashball 2.
DraftKings and FanDuel have attracted scrutiny this football season due to their aggressive advertising campaigns, promising big cash payouts for minimal investments. The state government in Albany also reminds holders of winning lottery tickets to sign the backside before filing a claim.
In a statement, DraftKings counsel David Boies said, “We are disappointed with the Court’s decision and will immediately file an emergency notice of appeal in order to preserve the status quo.”
Winning claims may be sent in with this downloadable form to New York Lottery, P.O. Box 7533, Schenectady, NY 12301 – 7533.
New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has claimed that the fantasy sites are not normal sports fantasy betting, because customers only play games based on a day or a week of action, rather than following a fantasy league through an entire season.
Winning numbers for PowerBall, New York Lotto, Mega Millions, Take 5, and other exciting New York Lottery games can be found on the New York State Lottery website.
